Come have a chat and a cuppa! Your role will be to support us with our Conversation Café every Monday to provide a safe, informal and relaxed setting for local non-UK residents to improve their English language skills. Through general conversation, you will help people improve their confidence and communication.
The charity aims to improve the conditions of life for the residents of Smethwick by advancing education and providing facilities for recreation and leisure time occupation.

We are seeking volunteers with patience and good listening skills. The sessions are very informal but any skills that can be shared to encourage communication are welcomed.
Volunteers will receive training in facilitating conversation groups. They will also improve their own confidence through interacting with other people in a safe and friendly environment.
Volunteers will receive information about other volunteer training opportunities in Sandwell. This opportunity is a good stepping stone for people wanting to go into ESOL teaching or classroom support.
