Help us put food in bellies not bins!

by Dorothy Parkes Centre

The Dorothy Parkes Centre is proud to host Dottie’s Community Fridge project, helping to reduce food waste and support local people in accessing surplus food. Dottie’s redistributes fresh, good-quality food that would otherwise go to waste, and is open to everyone in the community.

This is a practical and rewarding volunteer role that helps promote sustainability and community wellbeing. Volunteers are vital to the smooth running of the fridge, and we would love you to be part of the team.
Activities could include:

• Receiving, sorting, and displaying food donations
• Checking food quality and best-before/use-by dates
• Keeping the fridge and surrounding area clean, tidy, and hygienic
• Monitoring fridge temperatures and completing basic records and monitoring
• Welcoming visitors and explaining how the Community Fridge works
• Promoting food safety and responsible sharing practices
• Assisting with any deliveries or collections if needed
Pre-agreed expenses will be reimbursed.
