As part of our commitment to providing welcoming and accessible spaces, we are looking for helpers to support the day-to-day setup and preparation of rooms for events, activities, and bookings.

The role contributes to the smooth running of the centre by ensuring rooms are arranged appropriately and refreshments are prepared and presented for our guests. Volunteers play a vital part in creating a friendly, organised, and inclusive environment. We would love you to be part of the team.
Pre-agreed expenses will be reimbursed.

The Dorothy Parkes Centre is a vibrant community centre based in Smethwick which hosts a number of projects as well as hiring hall space to external agencies to lead various sessions.

Accessibility

Please note that this is a physically active role which requires the ability to safely lift, move, and set up furniture such as tables and chairs, as well as carry out other manual tasks. Volunteers should be comfortable with moderate physical activity.

Experience gained

We provide an induction process to ensure you have the information and support you need to feel confident in your role. Ongoing guidance will be available from the Projects Manager and wider team. Volunteers will be encouraged to provide feedback and raise any questions or ideas for improvement as they arise.
