Join artists to support patients with creative activities

An opportunity to support patients with activities and encourage interaction to enhance their day. Assisting the artist in the provision of creative activities for inpatients, which may include: visual arts, poetry, music, craft, textiles, digital art, photography. Volunteers will be invited to listen and talk to patients, making them feel at ease. Part of this role will be helping to encourage patients and visitors to contribute to experience surveys.
Pre-agreed expenses will be reimbursed.

Accessibility

No known restrictions, although this may depend on the individual workshops. We will endeavour to overcome any accessibility restrictions, and work to fitting volunteers with workshops they feel comfortable to assist with.

Preferred skills

No previous experience needed, and guidance and/or training will be given where required. An ability to connect with people would be beneficial. A willingness to try new things and collaborate with workshop facilitators and participants would be useful.

Experience gained

Our volunteers will have opportunities to work with and alongside a diverse group of people, potentially supporting patient, staff and community engage with arts provision within the hospital setting. Therefore there will be communication, teamwork, and caregiver skills gained.
