Help us protect and enhance habitats for nature.

by Birmingham & Black Country Wildlife Trust

Rather than working directly with animals, we carry out practical conservation work, improving wild spaces for nature and people. The activities will be practical and hands-on.

Tasks are different on each site, plus change with the seasons, dictated by nature’s calendar. Spring and Summer is largely site maintenance and keeping pathways open. Late Summer and Autumn bring wildflower meadow cuts and seed sowing. In the Winter, tasks include scrub clearance, tree felling and bramble removal, as well as wildflower plug planting.

Most tasks use hand tools, but you may work with or alongside powered equipment for tougher jobs.

We will provide a hot drink & biscuits for break time.

We will reimburse actual travel expenses, with evidence of bus tickets or mileage. This is up to a maximum daily amount, and following our expenses process.
