Age UK Sandwell is a local independent charity that supports people aged 50 and over, their families and carers. It helps older people stay informed, independent and connected by offering free confidential information and advice, later-life planning support, dementia support, activities, and services that promote wellbeing and social engagement.

Preferred skills

This role could be for you if you:

• Communicate clearly and patiently
• Are confident using computers and online forms
• Have good literacy and numeracy skills
• Are accurate, organised and respectful of confidentiality
• Can offer regular, longer-term support

Experience gained

Full training is provided, including GDPR, form filling and lone working, and you’ll initially volunteer alongside experienced staff.

There may also be an opportunity to work towards a Level 2 qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance and to access optional adviser training over approximately 12 months. Although this does not guarantee employment, it can provide valuable knowledge, skills and experience to support your route to employment.
