As a Community Advocate with St John Ambulance you will help to raise the profile of first aid within your local community by helping us raise awareness of the first aid message, through the delivery of short first aid awareness sessions. You will be organised and have the ability to plan your own sessions, with availability to suit the community group and yourself. Youth Team Volunteers work with young people from a wide breadth of backgrounds, ensuring they really feel part of the St John family. In this role, you will support the delivery of games, activities and training sessions during Unit meetings for young people aged either 5-10 years (St John Badgers) or 10-17 years (St John Cadets). As you gain more experience, you can be involved in planning and delivering sessions as part of our youth programme, and taking on additional responsibilities such as encouraging and organising for young people to go on events. The expected commitment is around 2 hours per week, every 1-4 weeks during school term time.
